Background: Unusual site venous thrombosis (USVT), which includes thromboses of the upper limbs, digestive tract, cellar and brain, are rarely observed compared to those lower limbs require both an etiological approach a rigorous management. Objectives: Our objective is identify epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic evolutionary characteristics USVT. Methods: Retrospective study including 33 patients files with USVT followed in The Internal Medicine Departments at Tahar Sfar University Hospital Mahdia TUNISIA over period 10 years. Results: They were 21 females (63.6 %) 12 males (36.4%) average age 45.2 ± 18 Cerebral was most frequent localization identified (30.3%), by gastrointestinal 9 cases (27.3%), vena cava (27.3%) limb 5 (15.2%). risk factors respectively: (42.4%), obesity smoking (30%), prolonged downtime (24.2%), surgical interventions (6.1%) pregnancy (3%). An etiology (66.6%), dominated constitutional thrombophilia BVL (15.1%) Behçet’s disease (16.4%). Rare causes neoplasia one case (3%), scleroderma (3%) inflammatory bowel investigation negative 36.3% cases. Treatment based on heparin therapy vitamin K therapy. Progression favourable without accident or recurrence 25 (75.5%). Complications 12.1% cases, post-thrombotic 6% pulmonary embolism 3% We reported death related hemorrhagic event. Conclusion: multifactorial pathology that involves acquired factors. Heparin early relay antivitamin remains treatment choice today. duration depend etiology, complications. Unusual forms of venous thrombosis and thrombophilia.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) results from multiple interactions between inherited and environmental risk factors. The lower limbs are the most common site of VTE, but more rarely other venous sites can be involved. The role of risk factors for VTE can be different in the various thrombotic manifestations, and there are specific risk factors for specific sites. Coagulation abnormalities causing ...
متن کاملCase of cerebral venous thrombosis with unusual venous infarcts.
Cerebral venous thrombosis is a relatively rare condition when compared with vascular accidents of arterial origin representing 0.5-1% of all strokes. Unlike arterial infarcts parenchymal changes are seldom present and when present most of the times are reversible. We present a case report of 28-year-old female with thrombosis of internal cerebral veins and straight sinus and hemorrhagic infarc...

Cerebral venous thrombosis is a relatively uncommon condition afflicting mostly young adults. Thrombosis of cerebral veins or sinuses results in variable and nonspecific clinical features, including headache, lethargy, motor or sensory deficits, seizures, neck stiffness and sometimes fever. A multitude of conditions have been attributed as risk factors for CVT. The more common conditions includ...
